If you do not want the Student Health Insurance Plan, you must decline or opt-out of coverage by submitting a waiver. You may only opt-out of coverage during the following Waiver Periods:

모든 유학생은 University of South Alabama의 학생 건강 보험(SHIP)에 자동으로 가입됩니다. 보험료는 학생 계정에 청구됩니다. 다른 건강 보험에 가입되어 있는 학생은 면제 신청서를 제출할 수 있습니다.

SHIP(학생 건강 보험) 면제를 받으려면, 대학에서 제공하는 SHIP와 동등한 보장 범위를 증명하는 서류를 제출해야 합니다. 면제 요청은 보험사에 확인 절차를 거쳐 유효함을 알려드립니다. 

• Policy provides Medical Benefits (Ex. Both emergency and non-emergency health care and mental health care benefits) of at least $100,000 per accident or illness.
• A deductible no greater than $500 per accident or illness.
• Coverage for repatriation of remains (a minimum of $25,000 toward such expenses or, if an amount is not specified, the policy must specify coverage of all reasonable and necessary expenses for repatriation.)
• Medical evacuation coverage is equal to or greater than $50,000.
• The claims administrator is based in the United States and has a US telephone number, address for submission of claims. *Students will be responsible for submitting their own claims.
